Thank You, Fallen Veterans

Honoring the Sacrifice of our U.S. Veterans

In Great Appreciation and Thanks for Your Service and Ultimate Sacrifice:

We, the American People, honor your volunteer service and sacrifice to our country.

We honor your commitment to the U.S. Constitution and to this country and your oath “to support and to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

We acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices that you made on a daily basis, such as being separated from your families for long periods of time as your children grew.

We acknowledge your valor in the face of sometimes great fear and danger.

We recognize and appreciate the sacrifice of life that many have made to defend this great nation.

We further recognize and appreciate the sacrifice that even more of you have made with your limbs, vision and sanity.

This country has placed great faith and special trust in you and you, for the most part, have rallied and acquitted yourselves with honor.

We thank you for your service, your faith, and your sacrifices.

Our Commitment to You:

We, your elders and many of us veterans too, promise to never again send you into harm's way without constitutional justification in a just war.

We promise to control both the politicians and the government that work for us, in accordance with our Constitution, the way our Founding Fathers intended.

We promise to restore this country to the limited government that our Founding Fathers intended.

We promise that you will live in freedom and liberty without any government intrusion into your lives. This means, in part, that the government will no longer keep track of you or know where you are at all times. They will no longer monitor your telephone calls or emails. In fact, the only thing the government will know about you is your mail address (if you want them to) in order for them to deliver mail in accordance with Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.

We promise to return “to coin money” in accordance with Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution in order to maintain a constant value thereof and to eradicate fiat currency (paper money) that is not based 100% on a precious metal such as gold, silver, or platinum. This will prevent the true inflation that we experience now without our knowledge.

We promise to downsize government to the limited government our Founding Fathers specified.

We promise to limit our military to an active/reserve ratio of 1:10. This will allow a greater reserve force and a greater civil commitment should we ever be attacked and called on to defend ourselves. The smaller active duty component will allow enough military to quickly handle any immediate emergency before our reserve component can be activated.

We promise to end deficit spending.

We promise to balance the budget every year.

We promise to eliminate the national debt.

We promise to eliminate income tax.

We will ensure that the federal government severs financial ties with the various states thereby restoring, in part, state independence of action, including cessation from this voluntary union of states if requested by the state.

We intend to hold our elected officials, judges and justices fully and criminally accountable to the People for all of their actions while in office. That means their complete fidelity to the U.S. Constitution at all times in addition to the legal and the ethical standards of their portion of the government.

We will eliminate government regulations, rules and laws that inhibit free enterprise in any way.

We recognize that U.S. sovereignty is paramount and will prohibit extra-constitution organizations, such as the North American Union, from forming by the hands of government officials

We will ensure that this country withdraws from the United Nations.

We will form no “entangling foreign alliances.” Instead, we will trade with other nations as part of the free enterprise system.

We will get the government out of the business of murdering babies and other helpless individuals like Terri Schiavo.

Why Do We Make this Commitment to, You, Our Veterans?:

Because it is you who are this nation's future and you have the individual right to life of freedom and liberty unconstrained by unconstitutional government laws, rules and regulations.

Because it is, after all, our Constitution as-is, that is supposed to protect our rights and freedom.

Because restoring this country to a constitutional democracy will allow you a better environment in which to raise your family with better, less expensive, private healthcare, retirement, and personal investment opportunities.

Finally, we do this because it is "We, the People of these United States" that still run this country, not the politicians and the special interests that they work for. WE just need to get it – this country – back on track by correcting its deviation from our U.S. Constitution.

Thank you, veterans, for the ultimate sacrifice you made to protect our freedom and liberty! May God Bless you always.

Noel Gibeson is president of the Mount Vernon Institute.

Unraveling the Ron Paul Conspiracy

The refusal of Ron Paul supporters to quietly shrivel up and die has many concerned citizens sensing a vast conspiracy of unparalleled proportions.

"It's really scary," said Emily Wonkette. "I'm afraid the Paultards will kill somebody. Don't they know that it's over? Paul can't win, but they still keep trying to bring up issues and get people to listen to them. Why don't they just shut up? If people were concerned about issues, we wouldn't have CNN."

Even people calling themselves Libertarians fear the Paul conspiracy.

"We Libertarians had a perfectly good thing going on," complained Jamie Kirchick, rumored to be a reporter. "We would sit around and put together position papers on stuff like eliminating the US Postal Service and turning the roads over to corporations. People thought we were wackos, but smart wackos. Along comes this Ron Paul guy and starts talking about getting us out of foreign entanglements and following the constitution. Quixotic proposals like that attract people dumb enough to think that we can actually do something. We all know libertarianism isn't about anything like that. It's about empty intellectual pursuits and reading Randian romances. How stupid can you be?"

Gerald Burgermeister, a republican businessman, scoffed at the conspiracy's naive foreign policy. "If we let those idiots have their way, pretty soon we won't have any troops anywhere but here. Where would we be then? If we don't go around forcing democracy on people, how do you expect democracy to flourish? They're not going to vote it in unless we set up free elections with candidates of our choosing. If it works here, it works there. We need to protect our interests, and you can't do that by minding your own business."

"I hear they took over the Nevada Republican Convention and ran all the decent people out of there," added Mrs. Burgermeister, who does most of the thinking in the Burgermeister household. "Bad manners generally reflect bad policy. Worse than that, Ron Paul recently wrote a manifesto. I guess you know who else writes manifestos. Communists. That's who. Those people scare me."

In the interest of fairness, a reporter for gunnersykes.com tried to contact Ayn Rand to comment on her novels being called romances, but found out she was dead.

Vice President Dick Cheney was unavailable for comment.

$3.1 TRILLION Budget? More?

WASHINGTON, D.C.  In 2002 President Bush set a new record by submitting a $2 TRILLION budget to the U.S. Congress. Now, he has surpassed even this previous achievement by submitting a $3 TRILLION budget. What’s wrong with this picture?

The “Spending President,” as I have previously called Mr. Bush, is a RINO (Republican In Name Only) when it comes to spending. He is 'for' big government rather than limited government that our Founding Fathers envisioned and stated in the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Bush likes to spend Taxpayer money on everything from undeclared wars, to rebuilding homes and businesses in hurricane-prone areas, to extending government-prescription drugs to even more people. None of these are spending activities are authorized by the U.S. Constitution. They are not the proper role of our limited government; any government that is, except a socialist, nanny state government.

Not only are these activities unconstitutional, but they are inflationary as well. Printing worthless paper money that is not backed by gold or silver, the U.S. Treasury just keeps printing more money whenever it is needed by the politicians. And that is quite often these days. That is what politicians do; spend our money. This causes the dollar to lose value. Not only is this destructive to our economy, but it causes the size of the government to grow. We, the People and the Taxpayers, need neither.

Before the President sent the record budget to Congress; even before they had even seen it, the Democrats in Congress criticized it with their usual mantra: too much money for corporations and the rich and not; enough money for the poor. That was to be expected. And we can also expect an even higher budget with higher taxes and no tax cut from the Democrats. So if you think the Bush spending spree is bad, just wait to the Democrats get their turn.

This insanity must stop! Our economy and our wallets cannot take it anymore.

Haven’t these spending politicians learned anything? Obviously not. They continue to spend this nation into bankruptcy. Of the  five presidential candidates left standing after the Potomac Primaries, there is only one that can be reliably counted on to reduce the size of government and his name is Ron Paul. The rest can be reliably counted on to spend this great Nation into the grave.

That is why the People must wrest control of the government from these corrupt politicians and replace them with people who understand what a limited government  means. At the local, state and national levels, we must work through the electoral process to change our government for the better.

Ron Paul Campaign Gathers Steam!

The People of America once again rose to the occasion and sent their hard-earned, after-tax dollars to support the candidate of their choice: Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is a lifelong Republican, a champion of freedom and liberty, who has been endorsed by Barry Goldwater, Jr. in the 2008 election cycle because Paul best represents the Robert Taft conservative wing of the Republican Party.

Paul is bringing together people from many different political parties,  as well as those who never voted before because of their political apathy with the current batch of politicians (and, hence, they were never polled before, either). He just finished the fourth quarter with $19.8 million dollars ($19,765,973.77) in donations with the average contribution under $90, way ahead of the other Republican candidates in the third quarter and almost all the Democrats this quarter. He has widespread support even if this is not reflected in the mainstream polls because of the polling methods used (you must have voted in the past to count). If he does not have widespread support, then why does he continue to win straw polls everywhere he goes?

College students love Ron Paul.  Ron Paul has more college student support than any other candidate running for president in 2008. What’s more, there are many other students in high school and even grade school who are too young to vote right now who adore him. They are great at placing and waving signs for him. Soon they will be voting for him and others who run for office of like mind. The People of America want to take their country back!

Another demographic where Paul has more support that any other presidential candidate, either Democrat or Republican, is among active duty military personnel. But their support is not just because of his stance on the war. More importantly, it is because of Ron Paul’s adamant support of the U.S. Constitution and his fiscal conservatism. Former military and retirees support him in large numbers too.
There are many, many young people today who are patriotic and want our U.S. sovereignty protected. They want our borders secure. And they value life and want the weak, unborn and infirm protected. In Ron Paul they have found a Christian with the same values that they hold dear.

Who are Ron Paul supporters? Well, in addition to the ones mentioned above, they come from every walk of American life. They are independent, hard-working and fun-loving. You probably won’t find any of them on welfare. Instead, whether young or old, they are saving and investing in the future.  They want to wean America away from the Welfare State. That is why Ron Paul is Hillary Rodham-Clinton’s worst nightmare. Socialists of the world won’t be able to unite with Ron Paul in the Oval Office. Same thing with terrorists; they better stay away from America.

Gun owners know that Ron Paul will protect their rights to keep and beare arms. Moreover, Paul will make participation for young people in Social Security and Medicare optional, thereby freeing them from the state slavery that their parents have had to endure during their lifetimes because of these coercive taxation programs.

Can we abolish the IRS? Hell, yes, we can. And we can do it by downsizing our bloated federal government by 80% over time. And we can start immediately by downsizing our overseas military empire of 542,000 troops stationed in more than 400 locations in 130 countries and bring them all home.

Violent Border Smugglers Scare U.S. Scientists

Terrorists, criminals and other illegal aliens continue the mass migration into the United States unchecked by the President, Congress or their bureaucrats. It is time for the People to take back their government from these political scoundrels. We must replace them all with those willing to follow the letter and sprit of the Founding Fathers as written in the U.S. Constitution, with those willing to actually protect our borders and our national sovereignty.

Violent Border Smugglers Scare U.S. Scientists
Sunday, December 30, 2007

PHOENIX -  Biologist Karen Krebbs used to study bats in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Arizona-Mexico border. Then, she got tired of dodging drug smugglers all night.

"I use night-vision goggles, and you could see them very clearly" - caravans of men with guns and huge backpacks full of drugs, trudging through the desert, Krebbs said. After her 10th or 11th time hiding in bushes and behind rocks, she abandoned her research.

"I'm just not willing to risk my neck anymore," she said.

Across the southwestern U.S. border and in northern Mexico, scientists such as Krebbs say their work is increasingly threatened by smugglers as tighter border security pushes trafficking into the most remote areas where botanists, zoologists and geologists do their research.

"In the last year, it's gotten much worse," said Jack Childs, who uses infrared cameras to study endangered jaguars in eastern Arizona. He loses one or two of the cameras every month to smugglers.

Scientists, especially those working on the Mexican side of the border, have long shared the wilderness with marijuana growers and immigrants trying to enter the United States illegally. But tension is rising because of crackdowns on smugglers by the Mexican military, increased vigilance in the Caribbean Sea, new border fences, air patrols, a buildup of U.S. Border Patrol agents and a turf war between cartels.

Smugglers are increasingly jealous of their smuggling routes and less tolerant of scientists poking around, researchers say.

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument stopped granting most new research permits in January because of increasing smuggling activity. Scientists must sign a statement acknowledging that the National Park Service cannot guarantee their safety from "potentially dangerous persons entering the park from Mexico."

"It's a kind of arms race, and biologists are stuck in the middle," said Jim Malusa, who specializes in mapping desert vegetation. "There's been a chilling effect on researchers."

Scientists say things have gotten more uncomfortable since 2001, when the United States began fortifying its border after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. In 2006, the Border Patrol embarked on a hiring spree, with plans to raise its personnel from 12,000 to 18,000 by the end of 2008.

Smugglers have responded with violence. Assaults on Border Patrol agents are occurring at a record pace, with 250 attacks reported from Oct. 1 to Dec. 16, an increase of 38 percent over 2006.

As crossing the border gets more difficult, the fees that smugglers charge to guide illegal immigrants through the desert has doubled in recent years, to as much as $3,000 per person, migrants say. At the same time, Mexico has been stepping up highway checkpoints and port inspections, forcing drug smugglers into the wilderness and onto remote beaches.

To avoid the checkpoints, Mexican drug cartels are moving their marijuana farms northward, from traditional growing areas in Michoacan, Nayarit and Guerrero states to more remote areas in Sonora and Sinaloa states, according to the U.S. government's 2008 National Drug Threat Assessment.

Marijuana smugglers, whose cargo is smellier and bulkier than cocaine, are increasingly abandoning the urban border ports of Texas and California in favor of the Arizona-Sonora corridor, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says. U.S. authorities seized 616,534 pounds of marijuana in the Tucson Sector alone in 2006, up from 233,807 pounds in 2001.

Smugglers also are increasingly relying on boats moving through the Pacific Ocean, the U.S. Coast Guard said this month. The Coast Guard seized a record 356,000 pounds of cocaine this year, most of it in the Pacific.

Scientists, who once had the ocean and desert all to themselves, say they are increasingly rubbing elbows with bad guys.

"They used to take the easier routes through washes and old river beds, but now, they're moving into the rougher country," said Randy Gimblett, a University of Arizona professor who studies human impacts on ecology. "There's a lot at stake because there's a lot of money tied up in drugs. We're not confronting those folks, but we're seeing more of that activity."

There are no statistics on attacks or threats against scientists, said Mark Frankel, director of the scientific-freedom program at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. But among researchers, drug stories abound.

Michael Wilson, a botanist and director of research at the Drylands Institute in Tucson, said he avoids some parts of Mexico's Sonora state since seeing opium poppies, which are not native to Mexico, and mules carrying loads of marijuana down from the mountains. Opium resin is used to make heroin.

Wilson said he has noticed an increase of marijuana cultivation in recent years and more people watching over the fields. Some of his colleagues now carry guns, he said.

"There are a lot of researchers who have ducked out of doing research in Mexico," Wilson said.

David Yetman, a social scientist and host of the PBS series "The Desert Speaks," said he had to stand in a marijuana field in eastern Sonora to get pictures during the filming of a 2004 segment on rural liquor-making. He hired off-duty policemen with automatic weapons to protect his film crew during a piece in southern Sonora, an area known for drug trafficking.

Richard Felger, another botanist, said he stays away from remote mountains in Sonora since being robbed and threatened on research trips.

"I got kind of allergic to pistols being held to my forehead," Felger said.

Gimblett, who relies on buried pressure sensors for his research on park users, said smugglers routinely cut his cables. Childs has tried leaving notes and pictures of saints - even Jesus Malverde, the unofficial saint of drug traffickers - to try to persuade smugglers to spare his jaguar cameras, but to no avail.

Huge swaths of northeastern Mexico are now off-limits to science, said Andres Burquez, a professor at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

"(Residents) will say 'You can go to A, B and C place, but not D,"' Burquez said. "And it turns out that's the place that interests you most."

Letter Writing Campaign: FoxNews, Ron Paul and NH

Dear Fox News:

I was disappointed to hear that Fox News has not yet invited Dr. Ron Paul to the Jan 6 forum in NH. On what criterion did you base this decision? Clearly, however, this decision is not justified based on objective criteria such as polling numbers and money raised. Why were five Republican candidates included and Ron Paul excluded?

Dr. Paul is a serious candidate with an important message that is shared by millions of Americans. He has participated in all televised debates and he should be invited to this one as well. In a free and open society like our Republic, we don’t discriminate against people we don’t like because they support the U.S. Constitution and fiscal conservatism; we invite them to debate. Please invite Ron Paul to the Jan 6 Forum.

If Fox does not invite Dr. Paul to the forum, there will be consequences. For starters, we will boycott Fox shows and advertisers.

Please invite Ron Paul to the Jan 6 Forum.

Sincerely,

Moving Towards a New Republican Party

Americans want presidents and congressmen that follow conservative principles and the U.S. Constitution, as opposed to just saying that they follow them.

What we are witnessing today with Ron Paul is a return to those solid, bedrock American principles espoused by Robert Taft and Ronald Reagan. The era of the neocons is ending, thankfully, and not soon enough either. Neocons will die-out like the dinosaurs did and new, younger blood will influence the Republican Party henceforth. The new focus will be on the practice of limited government and sound economic principles based on the Austrian economic model. This is the dawn of a new era and it is welcomed.

Ron Paul Has Come to Play!

WASHINGTON, DC - It was not too long ago that some people were writing off Ron Paul as someone that had little chance of becoming the next president of the United States. First, it was because he did not have enough supporters.  Then, it was because he could not raise enough money. Now everything has changed; he has legions of patriotic supporters and lots of money. The naysayers must now listen because Ron Paul has come to play. He is in it to win!

With a legion of patriotic supporters that come from every walk of American life from active duty military personnel, accountants, factory workers, waitresses, and housewives; Ron Paul has galvanized patriotic Americans everywhere to become the Peoples’ choice for President. Why?  What does he offer that every other candidate running for president, whether Democrat or Republican, does not? The answer is simple. His supporters consist of people previously aligned with the following parties: Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Independents and the Constitution Party. There are a many newer, younger supporters, most of whom never voted before because they were either too young or too disenchanted. Because of Ron Paul's message of freedom and hope, these voters are now highly energized and they will be around for many years (and many elections) to come. They are a happy, fun-loving breed that only wants the best for their country and themselves.

Paul’s message of freedom and liberty resonates loudly with the American electorate. They want more of what they used to have and desire to have yet again. They want to be free to make their own decisions and not let the government make those decisions for them. His supporters are positive people who are voting for a positive a candidate. They are not “protest voters” as the Lame Stream Media (LSM) would like us to believe. These supporters are patriots who want their candidate to support the U.S. Constitution.

These patriots realize that Ron Paul is the only candidate that will deliver on what he promised. His long record in Congress speaks for itself as a bastion of personal integrity and principle. His unwavering belief that the U.S. Constitution should still limit the size and scope of the federal government resonates with the electorate because that is what they want too. His belief that our currency should have intrinsic value by being backed by gold or silver, the way it used to be, is supported by voters everywhere. The government’s current policy of unconstrained printing of money contributes to the “inflation tax” that Ron Paul speaks about so frequently.

And perhaps most of all, Ron Paul is the strongest presidential on national defense. He wants to defend our borders and keep out terrorists and illegal aliens. He wants to bring our troops home from 700 bases overseas and 130 countries to defend the homeland. He always supports our veterans.

Championing a foreign policy that promotes free market trade and cooperation amongst nations will do more to strengthen our ties with other countries than invading those countries or threatening to do so. The current policy of “democracy-by- gun” does not work. It is the positive approach versus the negative approach. His commitment to U.S. sovereignty is second to none. He supports U.S. sovereignty while continuing to oppose the continued movement towards the formation of the globalists' North American Union (NAU), aided-and-abetted by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). He is 'for' defending our borders and he is against amnesty for illegal aliens all of whom committed at least two crimes when they came here illegally. Illegal aliens committed their first crime when they illegally crossed into the U.S.  and they committed their second crime when they illegally obtained fraudulent identification in order to work in this country. Others have continued to commit additional crimes and many others; perhaps as many as 78%, receive some form of government “assistance,” courtesy of U.S. taxpayers. This insanity must stop.

Ron Paul is not wishy-washy like several of our Republican candidates, i.e., liberal one day and born-again conservatives the next; just-in-time for the election, of course. And Paul is not clueless like all of the Democratic presidential contenders. He offers a clear choice to the electorate where there actually is no choice at all if you want someone in the White House who puts America first and whose actions follow his rhetoric.

It became clear from his record-setting, 24-hour campaign contributions on December 16th 2007 of more than $6 million in commemoration of the Boston Tea Party 234 years ago, that Americans want him in the White House too. For the “Tea Party” there were 58,407 individual contributors, of whom an astounding 24,915 were first-time donors. Paul will finish the fourth quarter with a war chest of perhaps more than $20 million, which is not bad for a former dark horse candidate. That is about $8 million higher than the $12 million goal set by the national campaign staff.  On any given day, the typical contribution is about $50 so there are many, many patriots around the country that support this man with whatever they can afford to give; waitresses with their tip money and construction workers with their Christmas bonus money. He is truly the Peoples’ candidate, a populist.

Ron Paul CAN WIN! How? First, people must vote for him in the primary election or caucus in their state, and then they must vote for him in the general election. HE CAN AND WILL WIN IF PEOPLE VOTE FOR HIM!

Presidential Candidate Ron Paul Bears Empty Pot For Americans

Sometimes a movement becomes larger than the man  himself. The Ron Paul R3VOLUTION may just be such a movement. A realization that what people desire most is freedom and liberty; to be free from the shackles of slavery from government controls, regulation,  and interference in the free market system, i .e., the nanny state. An example today would be the impending nanny state bailout of subprime borrowers and lenders because these borrowers and lenders made poor decisions in the past.  The free market system holds that it would now be time to pay for those poor economic decisions. Otherwise, when will it ever stop?

The People want their hired politicians to actually follow the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution the way our Founding Fathers intended. The People do not want neo-anythings (liberals or conservatives) to re-write history to suit their own warped views of the role of government. Governmental tyranny must be stopped the way the tyranny of kings was stopped in the past.

Those who still do not get it, will. Those who want to continue to distort history and engage in actions contray to the Constitution will be steam-rolled over like a horned toad on a dusty Texas road on a hot, summer day.

Presidential Candidate Ron Paul Bears Empty Pot For Americans

December 6, 2007

By Carl Fiser

(Smithtown, N.Y.) Many contend that Ron Paul, although an honest, plain-talking man, comes to the 2008 presidential campaign podium without a lot of achievement.  While in office, he hasn’t steer-headed proposed legislation into law, or galvanized broad-based support for this national agenda or that, or even been on board with most post-911 bills and actions.  For almost twenty years, he’s been a dedicated representative for his Texas District and has not a potpourri of achievements about which to boast on the presidential campaign trail.  Is this exactly true?  How could someone serve for so long, and have so little to show for it?

At this time, I should share a story I heard from two entertainers at my son’s grade school.  The entertainers were turning books from different parts of the world into short, little plays, in order to spark the children’s interest in reading.  The following story took place centuries ago in the Far East.

The wise, old emperor was keenly aware that he was getting along in years, and he worried about finding a suitable replacement to lead the people.  One day, he solicited the young people of his kingdom to gather, and he shocked them by telling them that he would be stepping down and that he would choose one of them to be his successor.  “I am going to give each one of you a seed today, a very special seed.  I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed.  I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!”

One young man named Ling, a son of a farmer, was there that day, and he was certain that he could cultivate that seed better than anyone else.  He got a pot, filled it with rich soil and watered it carefully.  Day after day, he checked the pot.  Weeks passed by, then months, and still nothing had grown.  Other youths from the kingdom began to talk about their plants and flowers and trees, but Ling said nothing.  He was sure that he somehow had killed the seed.

After a year had passed, all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection.  Ling’s first inclination was not to attend, but he showed up that day, sick to his stomach.  He was amazed at the plants that the others had brought.  They were of all different varieties and all so beautiful.  Some of the others made fun of Ling’s empty pot and others felt pity for him.  Ling stood toward the back of the crowd.

The emperor looked over the vast array and seemed pleased.  Then, he spotted Ling standing at the back of the room with his empty pot, and he ordered his guards to bring the young man to the front.  Ling was led grudgingly, fearful that he may be punished for his utter failure.  The emperor asked his name.  “My name is Ling,” he replied.  Now, all the youths were laughing and making fun.  The emperor then announced to the crowd, “Behold your new emperor!  His name is Ling!”
The emperor continued,

One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed.  I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it and bring it back to me today.  But I gave you all boiled seeds which would not grow.  The rest of you substituted your own seeds for the one I gave you, but Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it.  Therefore, he is the one who will be your new emperor!

Ron Paul, like Ling, is a great truth-teller.  His voting record is one of the most consistent
this writer has ever seen.  No flip-flops are to be found. As well, he is a courageous and wise man, and a heck of an economist.  Just ask the Wall Streeters.  However, he bears to his fellow countrymen (and countrywomen), an empty pot.  He can’t claim to have brought you wars or higher taxes, which we now have.  He never brought you an unbalanced budget, which is a perennial joke.  He never voted himself a wage increase and, to this day, gives back part of his salary every year.  He has always voted to preserve the Constitution, cut government spending, lower healthcare costs, end the war on drugs, secure our borders with immigration reform and protect our civil liberties.  Sorrowfully, he was outvoted or shot down on all measures.  The Constitution has been chiseled down, government spending is through the roof, healthcare costs are out of control, the war on drugs keeps getting less effective, immigration issues remain unresolved and our civil liberties have been crimped for our own safety.   I’ll just throw in that Ron Paul opposes regulation of the internet, which has been a revolution in the exchange of ideas, this article being a case in point.

The eye-popping reality of the situation is this.  No longer can it be said that Ron Paul is running for President.  Amazingly enough, his candidacy has been hijacked, and it appears now that the people are running for President. . . through Ron Paul!  That’s the true revolution about which your neighbors are speaking.

So, do you want the plants and flowers that your other government representatives have cultivated for you year after year, or do you want an open and honest effort at change, not for the powerful interests, but for you and for members of your family yet to arrive.  If you want to see an unprecedented effort at change - starting with the only man on the campaign trail who is not afraid to tell you the truth - your action must start now.  Get informed.  Get angry.  Get talking to your neighbors.  Then, get to the voting booths!

Ron Paul Wins Virginia Straw Poll (12/1/07)

Ron Paul vanquished the competition in the annual Virginia GOP retreat straw poll by collecting 182 votes (38%). Despite having former U.S senator from Virginia and Virginia governor George Allen and current Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonald speak on his behalf, Fred Thompson managed only 112 votes (23%).  While Mike Huckabee, who was represented by his wife, finished a distant third with 51 votes (11%).

Several long-time Republican leaders including conservative icon Morton Blackwell complemented the Paul campaign on their strong organization and mobilization efforts, according to Ron Paul National Field Director Dennis Fusaro, who spoke on Dr. Paul's behalf at the event. Fusaro went on to say that, while this reflects the organizational strength of the Paul campaign around the country, it is essential that Virginia Ron Paul Republicans replicate this turn-out on a county-by-county basis at next year's mass meetings.  Fusaro went on to congratulation the grassroots for, once again, coming out to support Dr. Paul in an unprecedented manner.

Virginia GOP Retreat Straw Poll Results:

Ron Paul 182 (38%)

Fred Thompson 112 (23%)

Mike Huckabee 51 (11%)

Rudy Guiliani 45 (9%)

Mitt Romney 43 (9%)

John McCain 23 (5%)

Duncan Hunter 19 (4%)

Tom Tancredo 4 (<1%)

The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA)

The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA)

WASHINGTON, DC - Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans with No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability.

Private-sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry (68%), and home improvement "warehouse" stores (65%). At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-sounding titles, but little real responsibility; thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Non-abled--banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?"

"As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, Michigan, due to her lack of any discernible job skills. "This new law should really help people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Ted Kennedy: "As a Senator With No Abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."

In  recent interview, Mount Vernon Institute president Noel Gibeson was quoted as saying, "The above is a spoof, although it my not seem to be."

Feds Seize Liberty Dollar's Private Property

Feds Seize Liberty Dollar's Private Property

WASHINGTON, DC – Could this ever happen in the United Sates? It just did.

It happened on Thursday, November 15, 2007 when the FBI and Secret Service searched and seized the private property of Liberty Dollar in Indiana, as well as their customers nationwide.

Liberty Dollar produces the only currency in the United States that is backed by gold and silver. This private enterprize was invaded by federal agents intent on putting them out of business. Why? Because they work for the U.S. central government that produces a currency that is virtually worthless because it not backed by anything tangible. The central government did not want any competition for their worthless currency. When the central government wants more money they fire-up their printing presses and, voila; more money.

Printing fiat currency is the primary reason this country is in the financial crisis that it is today. With the government’s worthless fiat currency worth less every day, it appears that the price of oil is going up. Actually, it is the dollar buying less because of inflation, deficit spending and gross national debt, as well as some normal free market activity. The government did not want to be shown committing the monetary fraud that has been going on for decades so what is the best way to stifle the truth: close down a private enterprize whose Liberty Dollar actually has a tangible value.

Our freedom and liberty continue to be in peril.

For more information and to join the class-action lawsuit against the central government’s actions, go here.

Here is the letter Liberty Dollar sent to its customers:
Dear Liberty Dollar Supporters:

I sincerely regret to inform you that about 8:00 this morning a dozen FBI and Secret Service agents raided the Liberty Dollar office in Evansville.

For approximately six hours they took all the gold, all the silver, all the platinum and almost two tons of Ron Paul Dollars that were  just delivered last Friday. They also took all the files, all the computers and froze our bank accounts.

We have no money. We have no products. We have no records to even know what was ordered or what you are owed. We have nothing but the will to push forward and overcome this massive assault on our liberty and our right to have real money as defined by the US Constitution. We should not to be defrauded by the fake government money.

But to make matters worse, all the gold and silver that backs up the paper certificates and digital currency held in the vault at Sunshine Mint has also been confiscated. Even the dies for mint the Gold and Silver Libertys have been taken.

This in spite of the fact that Edmond C. Moy, the Director of the Mint, acknowledged in a letter to a US Senator that the paper certificates did not violate Section 486 and were not illegal. But the FBI and Services took all the paper currency too. The possibility of such action was the reason the Liberty Dollar was designed so that the vast majority of the money was in specie form and in the hands. Of the $20 million Liberty Dollars, only about a million is in paper or digital form. I regret that if you are due an order. It may be some time until it will be filled... if ever... it now all depends on our actions.

Everyone who has an unfulfilled order or has digital or paper currency should band together for a class action suit and demand redemption. We cannot allow the government to steal our money!  Please don’t let this happen!!! Many of you read the articles quoting the government and Federal Reserve officials that the Liberty Dollar was legal. You did nothing wrong. You are legally entitled to your property. Let us use this terrible act to band together and further our goal is to return America to a value based currency.

Please forward this important Alert... so everyone who possess or use the Liberty Dollar is aware of the situation.

If the above link does not work you can access the page by copying the following into your web browser. http://www.libertydollar.org/ class action/index.php

Thanks again for your support at this darkest time as the damn government and their dollar sinks to a new low.

President Ron Paul: Pro-National Defense

President Ron Paul: Pro-National Defense

Critics of Ron Paul too often say he is weak on national defense. However the opposite is true. Ron Paul is pro-national defense and pro-America. This is an important issue that has too often been swept under the carpet by detractors for their own political agendas.

In a fine article, Michael T. Griffith explains why conservatives should support Ron Paul because he has the most solid record on national defense of any candidate running for president in 2008.

Ron Paul and National Defense

Michael T. Griffith, 2007

It’s time to put to rest the myth that Ron Paul is weak on national defense and that he would endanger America if elected.  I will list some facts about Ron Paul and national defense, and then I will provide links to numerous articles so that people can read what Dr. Paul has said on this subject in his own words.

First, some facts about Ron Paul on national defense.  These facts are just some of the things that could be said about Ron Paul and national defense.  Those who want a more in-depth view of where Ron Paul stands on national defense issues are encouraged to read the links in the second part of this article.  The Ron Paul quotes in the following points are taken from some of the linked articles.

* All conservatives agree that border security is a critical component of national defense.  Nobody is tougher than Ron Paul when it comes to border security.  His position is identical to that of border-security hawks like Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter.  In fact, Dr. Paul has called for ending immigration from countries that sponsor or aid terrorists (see below).

* A crucial part of national security is protecting our national sovereignty.  Unlike the other candidates, Ron Paul has repeatedly talked about the threats to our sovereignty posed by the UN, by regional trade agreements, and by attempts to make “international law” superior to American law.  No candidate would be more aggressive in protecting our national sovereignty than Ron Paul.

* Ron Paul has proposed the following measures as part of an effective counter-terrorism strategy:

(1) Do not allow people from countries that are sponsoring or aiding terrorists to enter the U.S., not even on Student Visas.  Says Dr. Paul, “Common sense tells us that we should not currently be admitting aliens from nations that sponsor or harbor terrorists.”

(2) Abolish all regulations that prevent or hinder our intelligence agencies from working together and sharing information.

(3) Treat terrorist attempts and conspiracies as harshly as completed acts, and allow the death penalty in more terrorist cases.  Says Dr. Paul, “The federal statute of limitations for terrorist offenses should be eliminated, so that suspects can never breathe easy even 10 or 20 years from now. Jail sentences and penalties should be increased, and the death penalty should be possible for many offenses. Terrorist attempts and conspiracies should be treated as harshly as completed acts.”

(4) End all legal preferences for terrorist suspects.

(5) Arm all airline pilots.

(6) Use letters of marque to encourage third parties to capture or kill terrorists.  Says Dr. Paul, “Congress can issue letters of marque against terrorists and their property that authorize the President to name private sources who can capture or kill our enemies. This method works in conjunction with our military efforts, creating an incentive for people on the ground close to Bin Laden to kill or capture him and his associates. Letters of marque are especially suited to the current war on terrorism, which will be fought against individuals who can melt into the civilian population or hide in remote areas.  (See below for more on this approach.)

* Ron Paul voted for the authorization to use force in Afghanistan.

* Ron Paul has introduced legislation, the “Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001,” to give the President more tools to pursue Bin Laden and other terrorists.  Dr. Paul's bill would allow Congress to authorize the President to specifically target Bin Laden and his associates using non-government armed forces. Since it is nearly impossible for U.S. intelligence teams to get close to Bin Laden, the marque and reprisal approach creates an incentive for people in Afghanistan and elsewhere to turn him over to the U.S.  Said Dr. Paul, "Once letters of marque and reprisal are issued, every terrorist is essentially a marked man.  Congress should issue such letters and give the President another weapon to supplement our military strikes."

* Ron Paul condemned the fact that when terrorists attacked the U.S.S. Cole, the sailors on guard had weapons that weren’t loaded and weren’t allowed to fire at the enemy anyway.  Said Dr. Paul, “Our sentries on duty had rifles without bullets and were prohibited from firing on any enemy targets. This policy is absurd if not insane. “

* Ron Paul has been a champion of funding for veterans’ programs.  No one has a better record when it comes to ensuring that our veterans’ programs are properly funded.  The Disabled Veterans of America have given Congressman Paul outstanding ratings for his support of veterans’ programs.  He has called for us to “honor veterans with a better budget.”  He adds, “We should understand that veterans programs, unlike so many federal programs, are constitutional. The Constitution specifically provides for Congress to fund armed forces and provide national defense. Congress and the nation accordingly have a constitutional obligation to keep the promises made to those who provide that defense. This is why I support increased funding for veterans, while opposing the bloated spending bills that fund corporate and social welfare, pork favoritism, and special interests at the expense of those veterans.”

* Ron Paul supported concurrent receipt for disabled veterans receiving military pensions.  For decades, a retired veteran’s VA disability payment was counted against his military pension.  Ron Paul was among those who strongly supported repealing this unfair provision.

* Ron Paul has repeatedly called for the Bush administration to refocus the military’s effort on getting Bin Laden and his supporters.  For example, Dr. Paul has said, “We seem to have forgotten that our primary objective in the war on terror is to capture or kill bin Laden and his henchmen. One year ago, the desire for retribution against bin Laden was tangible. President Bush referred to finding him ‘dead or alive.’ And while the hunger for vengeance was understandable, the practical need to destroy al Qaeda before it mounted another terror attack was urgent. Yet we have allowed the passage of time and the false specter of an Iraq threat to distract us from our original purpose.”

* Ron Paul has proposed exempting all military personnel from income taxes during time of war.  He believes that our soldiers should not be paying income taxes while they and their families are sacrificing so heavily from multiple deployments and/or from having to do extra work to make up for those who have been deployed overseas.

* Ron Paul wants to end our involvement in Iraq.  Bringing our troops home from Iraq would greatly enhance our military’s readiness and morale.  Our troops have done all we could reasonably ask them to do: They toppled Saddam and enabled the Iraqi people to form a constitution and to elect a government of their choosing.  Leaving our troops in the middle of the ongoing civil war in Iraq is unwise and unnecessary.  Everyone admits that most of the violence in Iraq is from sectarian fighting, not from Al Qaeda.  The Shiite government of Iraq is as oppressive and corrupt as the regime in Syria.  The Shiites in power have ignored the Iraqi Constitution, which calls for a diffusion of power and a federalist approach.  Iraqi government officials who have tried to expose government corruption have been killed, or have had to seek U.S. protection, or have fled the country.  Last year the Iraqi parliament voted unanimously to condemn Israel and to praise the terrorist group Hezbollah.

* Ron Paul also wants to end our involvement in Afghanistan.  As they’ve done in Iraq, our troops have done all we could fairly ask of them: They toppled the Taliban and enabled the Afghani people to form a constitution and to elect a government of their choosing.  But, as the Iraq Study Group noted in its report, the situation in Afghanistan is very bad.  The Afghani government is harsh and corrupt, and too many of the Afghani people are more loyal to their tribe than to anyone else and are also hostile to our troops.  The British and then the Soviets found it impossible to maintain control in Afghanistan.  The Soviets were unable to do so, even though they had many more troops than we have in Afghanistan and even though they were willing to use far more brutal methods than we will use.  We need to realize that we can’t always impose our will on an entire country.  Iraq and Afghanistan are nothing like Germany and Japan were after World War II.

* Ronald Reagan praised Ron Paul for being strong on national defense.  Said Reagan, "Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country."

Free Speech or Thought Police?

Free Speech or Thought Police?

RNC member now banned from Redstate

By Noel Gibeson

TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA – As a lifelong Republican who has voted only for Republican candidates; as someone who has contributed only to Republican candidates and organizations; and as someone who is a member of the Republican National Committee; imagine my surprise when my first article on Redstate.com  was summarily yanked and I was blocked from any further access to the website. What transgression had I made?

Apparently, free speech does not exist at Redstate, at least when it comes to saying anything bad about Republicans, or anything good about Ron Paul. I did not even mention Ron Paul in my article, except to provide the name of another article. Was that my sin?

Or, was it the focus of my article (found below) that said too many Republicans have lost their way and moved away from following the U.S. Constitution and true conservatism? Perhaps Redstate took these comments personally which, at the time, they were not intended to be. At first, the comments were not directed at them, but rather others who currently hold office. Now, however, Redstate is included as well.

Either way, I have uncovered a narrowness of mind normally associated only with far-left Democrats. But it is also alive and well at Redstate.

While Redstate may ban other writers, like they banned me, from writing anything favorable about Ron Paul, they will eagerly publish articles criticizing him. And articles lampooning Ron Paul are highly encouraged too.

It is now hard to take Redstate seriously because they are part of the problem. They are the statist Republicans that have fallen away from true conservatism and constitutional values. They are the ones who make all Republicans suffer the decay of the few. Worst of all; they do not see it that way at all. They think they are pristine.

Below is my first, and apparently last, rather innocuous article that was removed from Redstate in under six hours. They also blocked me from ever logging-on again.

I trust in God that one day Redstate, and all other statist Republicans, will see the light and return to the conservative fold; the conservative values of luminaries like Robert Taft and Ronald Reagan.

The offending article:

Conservatives’ Changing Politics

Many conservative Republicans, like me, have not been happy about the federal government spending practices over the last seven years, not to mention what occurred before this period. Same thing with foreign policy. Our Founding Fathers envisioned “no entangling foreign alliances,” but rather free trade with other nations. Now we have our U.S. military troops in 130 foreign countries.

With Republicans in Congress now voting to expand the size of government, rather than reducing it, and voting along with their Democratic colleagues, sometimes it is hard to tell them apart. But there may be one thing that they have in common; neither one are following the U.S. Constitution. While there are some important exceptions, the general rule is that there is now little separation between Democrats and Republicans in Congress when it comes to expanding the size of government. However, they do quibble over the fine points of spending and programs.

Take for example the SCHIP. There should not even be a program like that because it is not one of Congress’ 20 enumerated powers, yet no one is talking about ending it because it is unconstitutional, they are only quibbling over how much to expand it.  And this debate is not lost on the People because the People are not as stupid as Congress and the President may seem to think.

Many conservative young people fear for the future of their country. While I may not be one of them, young that is, I do fear for the Republic at the hands of liberals and lost Republicans. They may still be the downfall of this country yet. No wonder Congress consistently has such a low popularity rating; they are not doing what they are supposed to be doing -- following the U.S. Constitution and maintaining a limited government both in terms of size and scope of power. The People know this and disdain politicians for this. They want them to get back to a basic, conservative federal government.

Hillary Rodham-Clinton may be conservatives’ worst nightmare were she to become president. But if she becomes president it is because, to some extent, many Republican politicians forgot their conservative roots. But many conservative, young people want more than statist Republicans or Democrats. In Hillary Clinton versus Ron Paul? , the poll results show that many younger people are preferring  an alternative to Hillary Rodham-Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner in the 2008 elections.

We can and must do better as Republicans.

Hillary Clinton versus Ron Paul?

Hillary Clinton versus Ron Paul?

By Noel Gibeson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Despite her formidable political machine, Hillary Clinton’s worst fear may be that she could be running against Ron Paul in 2008.

Why? Because he may be the Republican that can garner more support from a younger demographic as it gets closer to the election. A recent Rasmussen Report data supports this. According to USA Election Poll, “Ron Paul Better in the General Election than Giuliani and Thompson Among 30 Year Olds; Leads Hillary Clinton 47% to 44% Among 40 Year Olds.”

Why? Because not only is he the only Republican in the contest who is against unnecessary and unconstitutional wars overseas, but because he actually follows the constitution. Young people eagerly support him and much of his support, perhaps as much as 70%, comes from the 20-30 age demographic. They are afraid for the future of this country and that they will have to give more and more of their money to the federal government to manage for them.

And if the dowdy Mrs. Clinton (or is it Rodham-Clinton; so hard to keep track) is elected, then that is exactly what will happen. She wants to institute socialized healthcare dubbed Hillary-Care, based on solid Marxist –Leninist principles to redistribute wealth, and institutionalize central planning and control. And if that were not enough, she also wants to give each child born in the US $5,000.

Do you think that might encourage more anchor-babies? Do you think these two policies alone would encourage an even greater mass, illegal migration from Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, not to mention the rest of the world?

And who is going to pay for all of this; Hillary and Bill? Of course not, it will be every working man and woman in this country. The people in this country need to rise-up and say, “enough is enough.”

And has she forgotten the current and future disastrous condition of the Social Security System instituted by another Democratic president named Franklin D. Roosevelt? No wonder the 30 and 40-somethings are scared to death; I would be too! In fact, I am.

Not only is Ron Paul anti-war, but he is ‘for’ the U.S. Constitution and what our Founding Fathers intended. He does not just give the Constitution lip-service like the other politicians. Therefore, he wants to cut the size and scope of the present government and let people manage the money that they earn for themselves. Why should we let the government manage our money when we do it better and more efficiently ourselves?

As a physician and Christian, he believes in the sanctity of life. His experience on the House banking and finance committees has given him great experience on the inner working of the budget and banking industry, not to mention the insolvency of the dollar that have been covered in greater detail elsewhere. And he is for our Second Amendment ownership of firearms.

He believes in an individual’s freedom and liberty and has voted to support them anyway he can. Rights are conferred by God, not by government. The fallacy that a government can bestow a right also means that a government can take away a right.

Many people already know and understand what Ron Paul stands for and more are finding out every day. If the choice is between Hillary Rodham-Clinton and Ron Paul, then there is no choice because the answer is clear: President Ron Paul represents the single, best choice to restore this country to its Constitutional foundations and to restore fiscal solvency.
