Subj: Ron Paul Appearance on Jay Leno Tonight Show on October 30th

Dear Jay Leno and Staff:

First, you guys are better than that other show that is on at the same air time, different channel. Keep up the great work!

Second, thank you for inviting Ron Paul to be your guest on the Tonight Show.

Ron Paul is America's last, best hope to preserve the freedom and liberty that our Founding Father's so wanted to protect. Remember, it is government that works "for the People" -- we do NOT work for the government. Limited government, and Congress with only their 20 enumerated powers (and no more) that were granted to them "by the People" at the Constitutional Convention, need to remember that. And to the extent that they - the Congress - forget, "We the People" will replace them, period.

Young people love Ron Paul. About 70% of his support is from people under 30 years of age. Even high school students, America's future, are for him in large numbers. Average campaign contribution is about $40. He is truly the Peoples' choice for President.

We need your votes too for Ron Paul, a true patriot.

110th CONGRESS

1st Session

H. R. 3835

To restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

October 15, 2007

Mr. PAUL introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committees on Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Select Intelligence (Permanent Select), for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007'.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS AND PURPOSE.

(a) Findings- Congress makes the following findings:

(1) Unchecked power by any branch leads to oppressive transgressions on individual freedoms and ill-considered government policies.

(2) The Founding Fathers enshrined checks and balances in the Constitution to protect against government abuses to derail ill-conceived domestic or foreign endeavors.

(3) Checks and balances make the Nation safer by preventing abuses that would be exploited by Al Qaeda to boost terrorist recruitment, would deter foreign governments from cooperating in defeating international terrorism, and would make the American people reluctant to support aggressive counter-terrorism measures.

(4) Checks and balances have withered since 9/11 and an alarming concentration of power has been accumulated in the presidency based on hyper-inflated fears of international terrorism and a desire permanently to alter the equilibrium of power between the three branches of government.

(5) The unprecedented constitutional powers claimed by the President since 9/11 subtracted national security and have been asserted for non-national security purposes.

(6) Experience demonstrates that global terrorism can be thwarted, deterred, and punished through muscular application of law enforcement measures and prosecutions in Federal civilian courts in lieu of military commissions or military law.

(7) Congressional oversight of the executive branch is necessary to prevent secret government, which undermines self-government and invites lawlessness and maladministration.

(8) The post-9/11 challenges to checks and balances are unique in the Nation's history because the war on global terrorism has no discernable end.

(b) Purpose- The American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007 is intended to restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

SEC. 3. MILITARY COMMISSIONS; ENEMY COMBATANTS; HABEAS CORPUS.

(a) The Military Commissions Act of 2006 is hereby repealed.

(b) The President is authorized to establish military commissions for the trial of war crimes only in places of active hostilities against the United States where an immediate trial is necessary to preserve fresh evidence or to prevent local anarchy.

(c) The President is prohibited from detaining any individual indefinitely as an unlawful enemy combatant absent proof by substantial evidence that the individual has directly engaged in active hostilities against the United States, provided that no United States citizen shall be detained as an unlawful enemy combatant.

(d) Any individual detained as an enemy combatant by the United States shall be entitled to petition for a writ of habeas corpus under section 2241 of title 28, United States Code.

SEC. 4. TORTURE OR COERCED CONFESSIONS.

No civilian or military tribunal of the United States shall admit as evidence statements extracted from the defendant by torture or coercion.

SEC. 5. INTELLIGENCE GATHERING.

No Federal agency shall gather foreign intelligence in contravention of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (50 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.). The President's constitutional power to gather foreign intelligence is subordinated to this provision.

SEC. 6. PRESIDENTIAL SIGNING STATEMENTS.

The House of Representatives and Senate collectively shall enjoy standing to file a declaratory judgment action in an appropriate Federal district court to challenge the constitutionality of a presidential signing statement that declares the President's intent to disregard provisions of a bill he has signed into law because he believes they are unconstitutional.

SEC. 7. KIDNAPPING, DETENTIONS, AND TORTURE ABROAD.

No officer or agent of the United States shall kidnap, imprison, or torture any person abroad based solely on the President's belief that the subject of the kidnapping, imprisonment, or torture is a criminal or enemy combatant; provided that kidnapping shall be permitted if undertaken with the intent of bringing the kidnapped person for prosecution or interrogation to gather intelligence before a tribunal that meets international standards of fairness and due process. A knowing violation of this section shall be punished as a felony punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to 2 years.

SEC. 8. JOURNALIST EXCEPTION TO ESPIONAGE ACT.

Nothing in the Espionage Act of 1917 shall prohibit a journalist from publishing information received from the executive branch or Congress unless the publication would cause direct, immediate, and irreparable harm to the national security of the United States.

SEC. 9. USE OF SECRET EVIDENCE TO MAKE FOREIGN TERRORIST DESIGNATIONS.

Notwithstanding any other law, secret evidence shall not be used by the President or any other member of the executive branch to designate an individual or organization with a United States presence as a foreign terrorist or foreign terrorist organization for purposes of the criminal law or otherwise imposing criminal or civil sanctions.

Gore’s Nine Lies

By Andrew Walden
FrontPageMagazine.com | Wednesday, October 17, 2007

There has been another election. A court has ruled. But this time it was the Nobel Committee voting, and Al Gore won.

Unlike the fictitious “autobiography” written by 1992 Peace Prize recipient Rigoberta Menchu, Al Gore’s fraud and falsehood were fully exposed prior to the award. A court ruling coming just one day before the Nobel Committee announcement labeled Al Gore’s global warming movie, An Inconvnenient Truth as “political indoctrination.” Stewart Dimmock, a Dover, England school Governor, had sued to halt use of An Inconvnenient Truth as scientifically valid teaching material in the United Kingdom. The so-called "documentary" had been distributed to every government-run school in the UK.

According to a statement released by the plaintiff’s supporters Gore’s nine falsehoods found by the Court are:

  • The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro are evidence global warming. The government’s expert was forced to concede that this is incorrect.
  • The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2,000 years.
  • The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The government’s expert had to accept that it was “not possible” to attribute one-off events to global warming.
  • The film asserts the drying up of Lake Chad was caused by global warming. The government’s expert had to accept this was not the case.
  • The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr. Gore had misread the study: in fact four polar bears drowned because of a particularly violent storm.
  • The film warns that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream, throwing Europe into an ice age: the claimant’s evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
  • The film blames global warming for species losses, including coral reef bleaching. The government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
  • The film suggests that sea levels could rise by seven meters causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40 cm. over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
  • The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The government is unable to substantiate this, and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

Gore shares the prize with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), manufacturers of the so-called “scientific consensus” which has been used to stifle and censor global warming skeptics. The Nobel Committee statement even invokes the so-called “precautionary principle” – the self-contradictory pseudo-scientific equivalent of a heckler’s veto.

An “inconvenient” court ruling was not Fat Albert’s only hurdle. Gore had to beat back another last minute challenge, this one posed by the protests of pro-democracy Buddhist monks facing murder and torture at the hands of Burma’s socialist dictatorship.

Once a significant international honor, in recent decades, the prize is becoming increasingly tarnished by a politicized Nobel Committee. Buying into the worst hype, the Nobel Committee claims, “Extensive climate changes may alter and threaten the living conditions of much of mankind. They may induce large-scale migration and lead to greater competition for the earth’s resources. Such changes will place particularly heavy burdens on the world’s most vulnerable countries. There may be increased danger of violent conflicts and wars, within and between states.”

It is Gore’s insistence that global warming is a greater threat than fascist Islamist terrorism, which promotes war. Gore and his ilk give al-Qaeda cause to believe Allah has made Americans weak and decadent infidels, unwilling to defend themselves. This belief inspires them to attack.

Besides Rigoberta Menchu, Gore fits in well with many recent Nobel Peace prize recipients, including:

  • Wangari Maathai (2004), who at a press conference announcing her award told reporters she believes AIDS is the product of a “bio-engineering” released as a weapon of mass destruction by Western scientists to “punish blacks.”
  • Shirin Ebadi (2003), who defends Iran’s nuclear program as “economically justified.”
  • James E. Carter (2002), an anti-Semite and co-creator of the modern Islamic Republic of Iran.
  • UN General Secretary Kofi Annan (2001), who oversaw the UN Oil for Food scam keeping Saddam Hussein in power, enriching dozens of UN officials, journalists and politicians around the world, and contributing to the Iraq war.
  • Yasser Arafat (1994) bus bomber, anti-Semite, possibly poisoned by other PLO leaders because he stood in the way of lucrative deals with Israel.
  • Mikhail Gorbachev (1990), who tried but (thankfully) failed to preserve the USSR.
  • Nuclear freeze groups (1985 and 1995), who tried but failed to preserve the USSR.

To avoid giving this year’s prize to the Burmese monks, the Nobel committee had to overlook the precedent set by its 1991 award to Burmese democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Suu Kyi, imprisoned in her Rangoon home since 1989, to this day endures substantial hardship for her cause. Gore’s so-called contribution to peace consists almost entirely of making a movie of himself giving a lecture. He lives in a mansion and cruises the world in a private jet, collecting speaking fees up to $100,000.

Gore’s life of luxury and ease also contrasts sharply with that of Peace Prize recipient Martin Luther King (1964) who was assassinated in 1968 after placing himself at risk many times in confrontations with segregationists like Gore’s father, Tennessee Democrat Senator Al Gore Sr.

Other recipients include:

  • Nelson Mandela (1993), who endured 28 years in Apartheid-era prisons.
  • Mother Theresa (1979), who spent much of her adult life helping the poor in Calcutta, India.
  • Albert Schweitzer (1954), who worked for decades building hospitals and treating the sick in West Africa.
  • German pacifist (1935) Carl von Ossietzky, who could not come to Oslo to receive his award because he was in a Nazi concentration camp.

The Nobel committee has reached a new low by honoring a pompous, self-enriching fraud whose work is aimed largely at keeping the Third World in poverty by blocking industrialization. Any surviving Burmese monks should demand a recount.

CIA to fire Inspector General over 9/11, rendition?

by Noel Gibeson

WASHINGTON, DC - When President George W. Bush first nominated General Michael V. Hayden to the CIA directorship, he said it was to fix problems at the nation’s premier spy agency long suffering from morale problems and relevancy. Instead, Mr. Hayden’s real mission may be to squelch the truth about 9/11 and the rendition program, both of which were investigated by the agency’s Inspector General John L. Helgerson who issued reports critical of both.

In the highly unusual move by Hayden to launch an investigation into the CIA IG himself, the Administration may be trying to ensure that the truth about these two issues stays buried. The move to investigate the IG has been widely criticized by members of Congress. Is this a prelude to firing the IG? Probably.

Many people will remember that that close to two years ago this same IG investigated the CIA’s involvement concerning 9/11. Shortly thereafter some CIA officers quickly bought special legal insurance in case they were prosecuted or otherwise sued in civil court over their involvement. Normally, government officials are defended by government attorneys when their actions were done in the line-of-duty. That defense is free to the clients.

However, when a CIA officer’s actions were not in the line-of-duty, then the official must pay for his own defense. That is why this type of legal insurance suddenly became a best seller at the agency; they were afraid that the classified report on the CIA’s involvement in 9/11 would soon be made public and they would be indicted and arrested and tried for murder and other high crimes.

Similarly, the agency’s rendition program was investigated by the same IG. The rendition program involves kidnapping and torture of prisoners to extract information. Some prisoners are captured on the battlefield while others are taken in cities world-wide. These prisoners can be foreign nationals or, in some cases, U.S. citizens. The CIA works in close cooperation with some foreign governments to hide and deflect direct responsibility to the agency, particularly when renditions involve U.S. citizens. That report also remains classified. Suddenly, more CIA officers began buying the same legal insurance should they be indicted, arrested and tried for crimes.

Will the CIA IG be fired over these matters? Or, will he suddenly meet with a fatal accident immediately before he is fired or shortly thereafter in order to prevent him from going public with the results of these investigations? We are watching and we will see.

President Ron Paul: Pro-Gun Rights

Ron Paul 's stated position and actions concerning the right of Americans to freedom and liberty and the right-to bear arms:

Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.

The Second Amendment

I share our Founders’ belief that in a free society each citizen must have the right to keep and bear arms. They ratified the Second Amendment knowing that this right is the guardian of every other right, and they all would be horrified by the proliferation of unconstitutional legislation that prevents law-abiding Americans from exercising this right.

I have always supported the Second Amendment and these are some of the bills I have introduced in the current Congress to help restore respect for it:

  • H.R. 1096 includes provisions repealing the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and the Federal Firearms License Reform Act of 1993, two invasive and unconstitutional bills.
  • H.R. 1897 would end the ban on carrying a firearm in the National Park System, restoring Americans’ ability to protect themselves in potentially hazardous situations.
  • H.R. 3305 would allow pilots and specially assigned law enforcement personnel to carry firearms in order to protect airline passengers, possibly preventing future 9/11-style attacks.
  • H.R. 1146 would end our membership in the United Nations, protecting us from their attempts to tax our guns or disarm us entirely.

In the past, I introduced legislation to repeal the so-called “assault weapons” ban before its 2004 sunset, and I will oppose any attempts to reinstate it.

I also recently opposed H.R. 2640, which would allow government-appointed psychiatrists to ban U.S. veterans experiencing even mild forms of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome from ever owning a gun.

You have the right to protect your life, liberty, and property. As President, I will continue to guard the liberties stated in the Second Amendment.

President Ron Paul: Pro-Life

As the Ron Paul revolution continues to gather momentum on the way to the White House, one issue that is rarely covered by the Lame Stream Media (MSM) is Ron Paul's position on Life. He is Pro-Life.

As a pediatrician, Dr. Paul delivered more than 4,000 babies. As a Christian he knows and appreciates the value of life, as we all should.

Ron Paul's Web of Cash

Posted by: Matt Lewis at 4:32 PM

I just got off the phone with Jesse Benton, communications director for Ron Paul.

Benton reiterated what he told me this morning -- that more than 70 percent of Ron Paul's $5 million this quarter came from the internet.  These numbers aren't 100 percent confirmed, but I'm told the numbers are very solid.  (The campaign is hoping to have exact numbers on Monday.)

Benton told me that the campaign raised more money online than even they expected.  For example, the campaign set a goal to raise $500,000 online in the last week before the deadline, but ended up raising about $1.2 million.

When asked about Ron Paul's ability to raise money online, despite his not being an internet aficionado, Benton said: "Ron's a little bit more web savvy than people give him credit for," but also admitted, "he's not Mr. Facebook, or anything."

Benton believes much of Paul's internet success is due to not trying to reinvent the wheel.

For example, he described John McCain's attempt to build his own social network as a disaster.

"We're using Eventful, Meetup, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace -- proven social networking sites that consumers already like, Benton told me.  "We used what was already in place ... We're using proven, effective tools..."

Of course, I asked him the perfunctory Howard Dean comparison question ...

Benton told me that unlike Howard Dean, Ron Paul, "has had a legitimate following for over twenty years."  He also added that "the internet ... has matured a little bit and is more capable of translating online activism to on-the-ground organization."

Ron Paul's internet fundraising has been nothing short of remarkable.  Like him or not, his campaign deserves credit for exceeding our expectations ...

Ron Paul Raises $5 Million for Bid

From Townhall.com:

Ron Paul Raises $5 Million for Bid

By JIM KUHNHENN
Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Long-shot Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul raised a surprising $5 million during the past three months, capitalizing on his stance as the only anti-war contender in the GOP field.

Paul, a Texas congressman who once ran for president as a Libertarian, also will report having $5.3 million cash on hand, campaign spokesman Jesse Benton said.

The amount places Paul well ahead of all but the Republican front-runners in the race. His fundraising for the quarter almost matches what Sen. John McCain is expected to report. His total is half the amount that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is reported to have raised.

Paul barely registers in polls of Republican voters, a sign of low name recognition nationally. Since he entered the campaign, he has operated with little media attention, getting the spotlight only during debates. But that has been enough to attract an avid Internet following.

Benton said most of Paul's money has come from online contributions. He said the donations had placed a strain on the relatively small campaign staff, which was trying to keep up with the accounting challenge.

Meanwhile, Republican Mike Huckabee was expected to report raising about $1 million for the quarter, according to a Republican familiar with his fundraising. Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, had been considered the most likely candidate to emerge from the back of the Republican field because of his charismatic appeal. But his fundraising has been far less than expected. His third-quarter total would bring his overall fundraising for the year to about $2.3 million.

Paul, meanwhile, turned some heads at midyear when he reported having $2.3 million cash on hand. Since then, Benton said, the campaign has increased its staffing from 10 to 40 employees. "We're adding employees as we speak," he said.   MORE...

Vote 'No' for Muslim Prayer in Schools!

You can now weigh-in with your opinion about whether Muslims should be given preferential treatment so that they can conduct prayers in public schools. Take the poll and write the school and elementry school district.

Please be civil and lay out an argument, not a diatribe. That way the school and district might listen! [see contact info below]

Subject: Re: {MAV} Granted Muslim children time during their break to make Salat; PLEA...

From: Noel Gibeson

Asalamu Alaykum,

As a Christian who supports Muslims in all peaceful activities, I urge you NOT to support the misguided policies of the Superintendent of the San Diego School District and the Carver Elementary School. Why?

Why? Because such support is taken at the expense of the Muslim students' Christian brothers and sisters and that is wrong. For years now the right to practice Christianity in public schools has been under assault by the same liberal people who now believe it is a good idea to allow Muslim students to make salat during their break.

In a PUBLIC school, Muslim students should not be given preferential treatment for their religion over any other religion. If public education is, indeed, to be secular, then it must remain secular for all students.

This does preclude Muslim students (or Christian students for that matter) from attending a religious school and more fully practicing their respective religious. In fact, both are encouraged to do just that. Besides, the quality of education is no doubt much better anyway.

As sons of Abraham we need to continue to work together and move closer to one another on common goals and not drive a wedge between our religions. We should ask ourselves, " What can we do to advance better understanding between our religions?"

I urge you to consider this argument and to NOT support the preferential liberal policies of that school and that school district. Vote 'No.'

May peace be upon you.

Respectfully,

Noel Gibeson

Conservative talk show host Roger Hedgecock has been critical of a local school because the school has granted Muslim children time during thier break to make Salat. The incident has attracted national media and I think it's time that the Muslims show our appreciation and support for the school (Carver Elementary) that has taken this courageous step of understanding, respecting, and accommodating the religious practices of others'.

Returning to the U.S. Constitution?

Ron Paul Controversy Over Iowa Tax Rally Turnout

Did republican candidate Ron Paul draw more attendees to his rally than the Iowa Tax Forum from which he was excluded? The campaign and some eye witnesses say that the rally held next door to an Iowa GOP tax forum – sponsored by the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance - drew at least 1,000 individuals. This would have been at least 200-400 more than the forum itself, and would have raised even more questions about the reasoning behind excluding Ron Paul – supposedly because he does not have an organization in Iowa, nor the capacity to build one.

The Des Moines Register reported the following: “Outsider Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul headlined a raucous campaign rally Saturday after a multi-candidate GOP forum in Des Moines to which the Texas congressman was not invited. An audience of more than 600 GOP activists turned out for the Paul event, held in Hy-Vee Hall next door to where six candidates addressed a subdued crowd of much the same size earlier. … Paul has built a loyal following of people attracted to the politician's libertarian stance on constitutional rights and opposition to the war in Iraq.”

Why Ron Paul?

by Alvaro Vargas Llosa

WASHINGTON-I was dumbfounded last week when three radio stations, one in Spain and two in Latin America, asked me to explain who American presidential hopeful Ron Paul is and why his candidacy in the Republican primaries has generated such a buzz. The congressman from Texas has hardly registered in national polls but is a political celebrity in the blogosphere and on cable TV Web sites, and has been the subject of front-page stories in The Washington Post and other major news outlets. Apparently, he is making waves around the world too.

The obvious appeal of this uncharismatic, straight-talking physician is that he opposes the U.S. military presence in Iraq. In a Republican Party in which most presidential candidates compete to claim the most "macho" foreign policy credentials, Paul-who once suggested that President Bush allow private bounty hunters to pursue Osama bin Laden rather than have the U.S. invade Afghanistan-stands out.

But Paul's opposition to the war is probably not enough to explain the appeal of this 71-year old libertarian among many young people. It would have been simplistic to attribute the counterculture of the 1960s to the Vietnam War, even though opposition to that conflict gave impetus to the moral liberation we associate with that era. And it may be simplistic to attribute the current symptoms of rebellion against the party elites in the United States, of which the Ron Paul buzz seems to be an unlikely manifestation, to the disgust with the war in Iraq.

Note to Ron Paul – Today's High Alert

by Anthony Wile

I watched presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Tex) on the recent Colbert Report and some thoughts occurred to me from a marketing point of view.

First some background. Ron Paul is a "constitutionalist" and free-market candidate for president in the United States, the only one for a number of years, perhaps since the mid 20th century. As such, Free Market News Network itself has been covering him closely - as it should.

Ron Paul's message, indeed the very fact of his candidacy, does Americans a favor by exhibiting the fault lines of what is left of their republic. That it is still a republic at all is a miracle considering that its leaders seem to want to merge the country with Mexico and Canada as fast as possible.

But this may well take some doing - and Ron Paul is daily exposing the truth of what the Republic should be, even as the media and the other well-corrupted candidates illustrate all-too-well what it has unfortunately become.

With both the media and his own party apparently set against him, Ron Paul soldiers on, winning Internet polls by wide margins and giving himself the chance, at the very least, to win a primary such as New Hampshire.  MORE...

National Anti-ID Coalition Support GOP Ron Paul

Missouri State Congressman Jim Guest hopes to use his national, "anti-Real ID" coalition of states – up to 34 of them - to support Congressman Ron Paul’s presidential candidacy.

The congressman will be introducing Ron Paul (R-Tex) at an upcoming rally this week - and further discussions may take place at that time.

Guest was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2002 and presently serves Chairman of the Fiscal Oversight Committee, among other committees. But he is most known for organizing a national network of states to oppose the Real ID Act.

While not all the members of Guest's coalition would (or could) vote for Ron Paul - or donate to him - he believes that his coalition can add significant exposure and credibility to Ron Paul's campaign, especially in the Midwest where opposition to the Real ID act is widespread.

The coalition has had success in making the issues behind the Real ID act better known to citizens across the country. Several states have already passed legislation opposing the Real ID act. Guest himself has called the Real ID act “a direct frontal assault on the freedom of citizens,” and a “national ID."  MORE....

Ron Paul Tops MeetUp Groups?

The Ron Paul campaign has generated the most "YouTube" subscribers of any presidential campaign, see below. But the Paul campaign has more "MeetUp.com" groups, as well - except for Barack Obama.

The campaign has generated over 100 MeetUp groups with over 4,000 volunteers, to Barack Obama's 5000 volunteers. However, Obama has been helped by tremendous media attention, while Ron Paul's campaign has received considerably less coverage, according to sources close to the campaign.

Ron Paul staffers, in fact, were said to be dismayed recently when the Washington Post carried a story on the use of the Internet by presidential hopefuls and did not even mention that Ron Paul had a larger MeetUp and YouTube presence than almost any other candidate.

Boycott NBC, forever

NBC's decision to air the Virginia Tech killer's video shows wanton disregard for the victims and their familes, not to mention the wider V.T. university community. Ratings have been lagging at NBC News lately and when Cho's videotape landed in their lap they thought they had a fast way to boost their ratings. They had just won the lottery, they thought. Not so.

Their complete lack of journalistic ethics, morality and disregard for the victim's famlies has resulted, justifiably, in a major backlash. Now, will copycat criminals ape Cho? Probably. But that again that may help NBC's ratings too. A win-win situation for NBC.

We now need to boycott any viewship of ALL NBC programs.

This includes their sponsors -- don't buy anything from them. This boycott of NBC should last for at least a year; for their sponsors six months. In fact, feel free to abandon NBC entirely - they are not worth watching anyway.
